When the corn and tomatoes start to appear at greenmarkets and farmstands, people go a little crazy. It's as if all year was building up to just this moment, when the tomatoes are juicy and meaty and the corn's tender kernels are bursting with sweet milk. For a few nights, you might have nothing but sliced tomatoes for supper, along with rapidly boiled corn slathered in butter and a judicious sprinkle of salt. Then, as you get used to having so much fresh goodness, you start wondering what else to do with it. That's where we come in, with recipes to bring out the best in this summer's corn and tomatoes. Try our Corn Fritters and our Fresh Tomato Risotto, or perhaps Sweet Corn Blintzes and a Spicy Cold Tomato Soup with Avocado and Chives. Whatever you make, make it now. That tomato-and-corn moment we wait for all year only lasts a few weeks.
